Key Ingredients

Liquorice extract
A potent anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant to reduce redness and calm skin. Liquorice extract helps to regulate the oil gland, making it an ideal ingredient for acne and congested skin. It also helps to reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone and pigmentation.

Manuka oil
A potent antibacterial agent used for centuries in Maori tribes for wound healing.

16% HYDROXY ACID BLEND:

Lactic acid (AHA)
A natural and biocompatible exfoliant for effective removal of epidermal dead skin cells, which aids in hydration and is suitable for sensitive skin.

Salicylic acid (BHA)
An oil-loving beta hydroxy acid that works on the uppermost layer of the skin and within the pores. It is excellent for acne sufferers as it can exfoliate and remove dead cells and debris trapped in pores.

Malic acid (AHA)
A powerful antioxidant and humectant that has hydrating properties to leave a protective, moisturising layer on the skin. Also an oil loving hydroxy acid.

Aloe vera powder
A powerful anti-inflammatory that calms and moisturises sensitive skin.

A Note from Terri

I formulated Blem-X as a blemish spot treatment to target the underlying reason for acne breakouts, rather than just killing the bacteria. This blend addresses the problem on four levels: skin cell overproduction, excess oil, overgrowth of P.acne bacteria, and inflammation. Salicylic acid, a hero ingredient, acts as a mini bottle brush, reaching deep inside the pore to clean out the build-up of dead skin, dirt and oil. The alpha hydroxy acids, lactic, malic and citric acids, chemically exfoliate surface dead skin cells responsible for congestion. I have also added oil-balancing and pore-refining botanicals, antibacterial manuka essential oil, and potent anti-inflammatories including licorice extract, aloe concentrate and bisabolol. This multi-level approach is the key to successfully spot treating acne at the source.
